Our high school football team won their final regular season game tonight. The finished with a "Perfect 10 and O" record. Undefeated!!!

Now I have some questions for you. Were they perfect on every play? Was every game perfect? The answers are both NO. They made many mistakes in their games. They had penalty flag thrown in probably every game. They missed tackles. They dropped passes. The quarterback got sacked at least once this season. They did not play perfect in every game but they finished with a perfect record and undefeated. Once the win was recorded, none of the mistakes mattered.

Isn't that how it is with life? Once we accept Christ, we know the outcome of the season. We win. We are perfect. We are no longer defeated. Does that mean that we will act perfect everyday for the remainder of our lives? Not likely. Even as children of our Loving Lord we are capable of making mistakes. We may 'drop the ball' on charity. We may 'fumble the ball' while reacting to stressful situations. However, when we keep our eyes on the end-zone, keep running toward our goal, with the help of our Teammates, we win! We finish perfect. We finish undefeated.

Colossians 1:28 (NIV): We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
