How Are You Supporting The Front Line?

Today of all days!

I normally don't pay much attention to my hair since most days ARE bad hair days with thin, fine, straight, non-existent hair.

But today is the day my new team 'goes-live'. That means that they are taking on the work they were hired and trained to do. So we will have guests from the home office visiting us to help ensure that all systems are go.

And I'm having a bad hair day. Well, not really a bad hair day...just a bad bangs day. The rest of my hair is acting fine. It's just the part out in front. The first part people see when they see my head.

So I need to get going to get to work on time but I couldn't leave the house without passing along this little lesson...

Since Christ is the Head of the Church, our church leaders can be viewed as the 'bangs'. They are the ones that most of the rest of the world sees first when they look at a church. If they look bad, the world doesn't care about the rest of the 'haircut style'. If the church leaders are 'falling away', it doesn't matter much to the world what good works the body is doing. And we all have a responsibility to support our leaders in prayer, encouragement, and more.

If you are a church leader, what are you doing to ensure that when the world looks at the Head and sees the bangs first, that you are sporting a positive image spiritually, morally, ethically, etc.? If you are not a church leader, what are you doing to support your leaders? Are you praying for them regularly? Are you sending notes of encouragement whenever you see them following the Lord's direction? Do you let the pastor know when God speaks straight to your heart because of what the preacher said that day?

Philippians 4:7 (Contemporary English Version) Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel.
