How Do You Respond To What You See?

As I was driving to work, I saw a sticker on the car in front of me that read "Enter into the darkness" which I'm pretty sure was a satanic or witchcraft related sticker. Now my normal reaction to such stickers is something completely spiritual like "You stupid person. How dumb can you be?" Okay so that's not a 'holy' response, I know...but I'm human and real and that is exactly what I 'usually' think.

This time it was different.

I saw the sticker and thought ... Wow! That person needs to know my Loving Lord.

So the entire time that I followed this car, I prayed. I prayed for the Spirit of our Loving Lord to fill the car. I prayed that anyone riding in the car would be protected from Satan's influences. Then I prayed specifically for the salvation of the driver. I prayed that he or she would come to know the Lord's saving grace and would grow to love my Lord just as I do.

Then the driver turned right and I was no longer following that car. But I couldn't stop praying for the driver.

I may never know what happens in the life of that driver but I do know what happened to me. I 'saw the light' that I don't need to judge what I see ... I just need to take what I see to the foot of the cross and let my Loving Lord take it from there.

What are you judging today? How are you responding to what you judge? Instead of judging others or circumstances, will you take that person or that circumstance to our Loving Lord and let Him effect the change that needs to happen?
Numbers 9:8 (The Message) Moses said, "Give me some time; I'll find out what God says in your circumstances."

Do You Only Accept 5-Stars?

Have you ever had a wonderful meal? I mean a 5-Star meal from a classy restaurant or a top quality prime steak cooked to perfection at home. We've had two such occasions in past year or so. One was at a Brazilian steak house and one was at the steak house we went to for a 'milestone' birthday celebration for my sister-in-law. The steaks were melt-in-your-mouth. The service was the best.

After you ate that meal or left that restaurant, did you feel full? Satisfied? Happy? Did you now have a new measuring stick to measure all future meals by?

Have you ever belonged to a church where you thought the pastor was better than any other preacher alive? Is there a pastor that you measure all other pastors against?

Have you ever experienced true worship at a church? Has everything ever come together in such a way that with the music, the preaching, and the fellowship you felt that this must be exactly what Heaven will be like?

Not all meals that you eat will be 5-star meals and not all meals will leave you that happy or satisfied. Does that mean that you won't eat any more? Does that mean that until and unless you can repeat the 5-star dining experience you won't be involved in eating? We all know the answer to that one. If you don't eat ... you die. Instead we find other healthy meals that will nourish our bodies while savoring the memory of the special meals.

Not all churches will measure up to the one that you or I recall as the best we ever attended with the best preaching and best music. Does that mean that we stop attending church until and unless we can recreate that one church with the right kind of pastor and right kind of music? Or do we find a church that can provide a steady healthy diet of solid preaching and Christ-centered music and get involved?

(Note to all readers: This has been a real personal struggle for me in my search for a new church home.)

Psalm 145:19 (Contemporary English Version) You satisfy the desires of all your worshipers, and you come to save them when they ask for help.

Will You Recognize The Answer When It Comes?

Some regular readers and subscribers have noticed and commented on the lack of "Little Lessons" lately. One friend wrote and asked if I was okay. I said that I was fine, I just haven't had much 'inspiration' lately. The things that I did find to write about could have been deem 'inappropriate' by some. Due to my position at work, many of the little lessons I see there I have to keep to myself unless I can find a way to disguise enough of the details. Some of the little lessons that I see in my family, well, let's just say you shouldn't share all the details of your life online...LOL... :-)

So the friend said that she would pray for me to find inspiration again in my daily life so that we could continue to have Little Lessons from my Loving Lord.

I wonder exactly what she prayed for.

As you saw yesterday the 'inspiration' for that lesson was found in a problem I really didn't want to have. I would have preferred to find inspiration in an unexpected opportunity instead of an unexpected problem. But you know what excites me? I did indeed find inspiration. We did receive an answer to prayer.

What are you searching for today? How are you approaching the throne of grace while you search? Are you listening and watching for an answer? Will you recognize the answer when it comes? If the answer involves something that you don't want, will you still find His answer in the midst of the storm?

Job 5:8-9 (New International Version)
"But if it were I, I would appeal to God;
I would lay my cause before him.
He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed,

miracles that cannot be counted."
